2 men arrested in drive-by shooting that injured San Antonio officer

SAPD: Rene Alfaro, Oscar Padilla arrested, Third suspect at-large

An officer has been injured after being shot at on the city's West Side.

Two men have been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting that left a San Antonio police officer injured. 

Rene Alfaro, 25, and Oscar Padilla, 25, are both facing charges of attempted capital murder of a police officer and deadly conduct. Police believe a third suspect remains at-large.

Officials say Ofc. Reynaldo Bustos, 51, got glass and plastic fragments in his eyes when a shot was fired into his vehicle early Saturday morning and struck his laptop near Rodriguez Park off Old Highway 90.

Bustos, a 7-year-veteran of the force, needed surgery to remove the fragments and was in satisfactory condition, police said.
