A man jumped to his death Sunday on the city's North Side. It happened just before 3:30 p.m. near the San Antonio International Airport.

According to police, 33-year-old Joaquin Martinez was driving westbound on Loop 410 when he took the ramp toward Highway 281 South.

Witnesses said Martinez stopped his car, got out, and jumped over the side of the ramp without hesitation.

The apparent suicide forced police to close the eastbound lanes of Loop 410 for more than an hour. The Loop 410 westbound ramp to 281 south was also closed while officials investigated the incident.
