Charles Baker, 40, and Emily Baker, 20, were charged with burglary, but a third suspect got away.

Carla Chapa said she saw the trio and was suspicious of the group from the moment she saw their pickup on her dead-end street around 11 p.m.

"We're very suspicious of cars that don't belong on our street, so when I saw it come down here, and I didn't see it go back out, I kind of started peeking through the windows and started watching what he was doing," Chapa said.

Chapa said she watched a man go to the front door and knock. Then, when no one answered, she said the man pulled out of the driveway and backed up his pickup toward the back door.

"Him and another guy got out of the car and started unloading stuff, and I thought, 'That doesn't look right,'" Chapa said.

When Chapa told her husband Douglas what she saw, they quickly jumped into action.

"My first reaction is, (that I had to) get involved. We called all our neighbors, and we had all the neighbors out here. Everybody was on it immediately," Douglas Chapa said.

When police arrived, they said all three suspects took off running.

They found the father and daughter hiding on the roof of a shed a couple houses away.
