Drowning victim found in Guadalupe River
Comal Co. searchers say he fell into flooded river Thursday
Three days of searching ended Sunday morning when someone spotted the body of missing man in the Guadalupe River just south of Canyon Lake.
The Comal Co. Sheriff's Office says that body is Samuel Gene Rosson, Jr.
They say a resident saw the body in the Guadalupe only about 50 yards from the place where he fell into the river during flooding on Thursday.
A witness told searchers Rosson tried to retrieve a pump from the flood-swollen river, but fell into the rushing water and disappeared.
Deputies and Canyon Lake Fire and EMS personnel searched the river around the Horseshoe area but could not find Rosson in the swift flowing river.
After the person spotted his body around 10:30 Sunday morning crews returned to the scene and recovered Rosson.
