Man dead after shooting, crash on far westside

Police UNsure whether gunfire or crash killed man

A man was found dead Sunday morning after a car accident and shooting in the 9700 block of Gold Dust at 11:30 a.m.

When emergency crews arrived, the victim was already dead, but it was later discovered that the man had also suffered at least one gunshot wound.

Police received 911 calls from the area for the crash and gunfire simultaneously and were able to connect the two incidents.

According to witnesses, the man was involved in an altercation and was shot as he tried to leave the scene.

He lost control of his vehicle and hit a parked pick-up truck.

Nathan Beadreau heard the gunfire followed by the sound of metal crashing into metal.

"I ran over there and there was a guy laying there and I said, ‘Are you okay?' and he didn't say anything," Beaudreau said. "I saw the gunshots on the windshield and I kind of knew that it was (the) gunfire."

Police are not yet sure whether the man died from his gunshot wounds or from the impact of his car crashing into the pick-up truck.

Witnesses said they saw three people leave the scene in a silver car, and investigators are now looking for multiple suspects connected to the shooting.

Police have not released the victim's identity, but they said he was a Latin male in his early 30s.
