Woman claims neighbor tried to rape her after plea for help

Danis Ramirez, 35, charged with attempted sexual assault

A 35-year-old man was arrested after a woman claimed he lured her to his apartment west of downtown and tried to sexually assault her, an affidavit stated.

Danis Ramirez was arrested Friday evening on a charge of attempted sexual assault.

The arrest warrant affidavit stated that a 28-year-old woman told San Antonio police that Ramirez knocked on her door, saying that someone had broken into his apartment on Las Moras Street and left a trail of blood.

The woman told detectives Ramirez then convinced her to follow him and see the blood for herself.

The woman said once she entered Ramirez's apartment, he attacked her and tried to remove her clothing and sexually assault her, the affidavit stated.

However, the woman said she managed to fight Ramirez off and ran home to get help, the affidavit stated.

Ramirez was arrested and booked into the Bexar County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bond.
