Business owner recovers stolen food trailer

$50,000 trailer was ripped up, painted bright pink

A local business owner, who has been the victim of theft three times in four months, has recovered one of his stolen items, a $50,000 food trailer.

Kyle Yuchinski, owner of Texas Truck Tops, captured the crooks on surveillance video hauling away the expensive trailer, back on Feb. 1.

A month later, an anonymous tip was called in, leading police to the 20000 block of Trumbo Road, on the South Side, after the tipster noticed the trailer being painted pink.

"I'm so happy, so elated and pleased, and I just thank God that I got the trailer back," Yuchinski said. "They took out all the components out of it, but they didn't do anything to the structure, so I can replace the components. If they had really done something with the structure, it would be a different story."

Yuchinski said the inside components, including a ventilation system, sink, and countertops, were ripped out of the food trailer, and the exterior was painted a bright pink.

Yuchinski said it will take him about two weeks and $10,000 to repair the damage.
San Antonio Police have not yet made an arrest in the case.
