Third victim in SXSW crash dies

KVUE: Sandy Le dies from injuries sustained in crash

Austin's KVUE has confirmed that a third person injured in last week's SXSW crash has died.

The Travis County Medical Examiner's Office told KVUE on Monday that Sandy Le, 26, died from injuries sustained on Thursday, March 13, when she was hit by a car on Red River outside the Mohawk Club.

Jamie West, 27, of Austin, and Steven Craenmehr, 35, of Amsterdam, were both killed in the crash. Twenty-two others were injured, seven of whom remain hospitalized.

Rashad Owens, 21, was charged with capital murder and aggravated assault with a motor vehicle in connection with the crash. Austin police investigators said he was fleeing police who were attempting to pull him over on a drunken driving stop. Police said he intentionally barreled into a crowd of festival-goers outside the club.
