Alleged DWI driver barrels into creek

Driver taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries

An alleged drunken driver lost control of his car late Monday night and ended up 80 feet into a creek, San Antonio police said.

The crash occurred just before midnight on the access road of Loop 1604 between Gold Canyon and Redland Road.

San Antonio police said the driver jumped a curb, ran off the road and barreled into the creek. The driver finally came to stop when he crashed into a cement pillar.

Police said he was transported to Stone Oak Methodist Hospital with non life threatening injuries. Police have not said what official charges he would face.
