The Bexar County Sheriff's Office and Bibliotech have teamed up to offer inmates a unique program.
The Mothers and Their Children (MATCH) Program allows inmates to use e-readers from Bibliotech to read their children when they come to visit.
The MATCH Program lets inmates spend quality time with their children while also learning new parenting skills.
"They've indicated they have a desire to learn new skills and to improve their parenting skills, because so often when you haven't had examples growing up, how do you know what good parenting is?" said Bexar Co. Sheriff Susan Pamerleau. "These are individuals who said, 'I want to improve my relationship with my children.'"
MATCH celebrates its 30-year anniversary Friday.
