Bexar Towing could face $100,000 in fines

Company accused of charging more than city's approved tow rate

We need to make a correction on a story that aired on KSAT 12 News at 10 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday on "Good Morning San Antonio" and was posted on KSAT.com.

Bexar Towing will have to wait almost two more months for a decision by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation about potential fines they could face in the wake of accusations that they charged customers more than the city's approved tow rate.

The business potentially faces close to $100,000 in fines.

Under investigation is whether the towing company charged more for non-consent tows.

The state heard the case Wednesday.

However, the TDLR adjourned Wednesday's meeting until the next commission meeting -- set for the last week in May -- "when all commissioners will be in attendance to make a determination in this case," said the TDLR's Susan Stanford.
