Man accused of decapitating girlfriend's pet parrot

Suspect charged with cruelty to non-livestock animals, assault of family member

A man is accused of decapitating his girlfriend's pet parrot. Reginald Donahoe is charged with cruelty to non-livestock animals and assault of a family member.

According to court documents, in December, Houston police were called out to an apartment because Donahoe had kicked and hit his girlfriend.

As an officer was escorting Donahoe out of the apartment, Donahoe allegedly reached into a bird cage and pulled out his girlfriend's quaker parrot.  He pulled off the animal's head with his hand. Donahoe is being held in jail on no bond.

Court records show his previous criminal history includes assault on a family member, injury to a child and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
