Driver plows into nearly century-old building in downtown San Antonio

Driver crashed into building in 1200 block of East Houston

A woman was hospitalized early Thursday morning when she crashed a truck into the side of a building near downtown.

Police said the crash happened just after 12:30 a.m. in the 1200 block of East Houston Street.

The driver was headed eastbound on Houston when she lost control of the truck, jumped a curb, over-corrected and slammed into the building, which police said was reportedly built in the 1920s.

She was taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have not said what caused her to lose control of the truck or whether she would face any charges.
