San Antonio police arrest machete-wielding robbery suspect

Angel Longoria, 26, charged with aggravated robbery

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a robbery at a Northwest Side gas station in which the suspect wielded a machete at the clerk and customers.

A warrant was issued for Angel Longoria's arrest Monday. However, it appears he was already in custody, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

The affidavit also stated that he's a suspect in similar robberies at other businesses.

The warrant describes one case, in particular, at a Shell-Timewise station in the 6400 block of NW Loop 410 on March 29.

A clerk at that business told police that a man walked into the store, raised a machete over her head and demanded money from the cash register, the affidavit stated.

It stated that he also threatened a customer with the machete and demanded that person's money too, before running out to a waiting car.

Witnesses told police a second man, armed with a knife, also was involved and drove the getaway car, described as a dark-colored Chevrolet Camaro with a white racing stripe, the affidavit stated.

Detectives also obtained a license plate number for the car from a witness in another robbery.

They said they located the car at an apartment complex where Longoria lives, the affidavit stated.

Longoria has been charged with aggravated robbery in connection with the gas station robbery.
