Amber Alert discontinued for 14-year-old girl

Elizabeth Rex no longer missing as of April 16

An Amber Alert issued Tuesday evening for a special needs 14-year-old girl was discontinued Wednesday.

The Department of Public Safety announced that Elizabeth Rex, who has Down syndrome, autism and a pre-development disorder, was found in Harlingen, Texas.

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Units, working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Harlingen police located Rex and Randy Johnson, the 51-year-old man who authorities believe was connected to Rex's abduction.

Rex and Johnson were found in a trailer park in Harlingen. Rex appeared unharmed, according to a statement issued by the FBI, and was being transferred to a local hospital for an evaluation.

Johnson was placed in custody for a kidnapping warrant that was issued in Montgomery County in connection with Rex's abduction.
