Home video catches creepy burglar staring at sleeping baby

Suspect caught on home surveillance video, baby unharmed

Houston authorities are searching for a burglary suspect who is seen on home video surveillance walking through the victims' home and staring at their infant while they slept.

On April 5, Harris County Sheriff's deputies responded to the residence. The homeowner told deputies he was notified by a neighbor that his laptop computer and a briefcase were found in a neighbor's yard. Deputies say the homeowner stated the items were in his residence when he went to bed the night before. The burglar also took $60 in cash from a wallet.

Thrinh Le told KPRC-TV when he saw the chilling images of the intruder in his son's bedroom he got sick to his stomach.

"As soon as I know we got broke into I went upstairs right away and check on him and kiss him so hard," he said. "I was so happy to see he's OK."

Le doesn't know what the burglar was looking for in the baby's room. His son is 2 1/2 and he said there is nothing of value in there.

The burglar was in the home for about five minutes, Le said he got in through an unlocked front window. "It's just one of those nights I wasn't careful," he said.

Le and his wife have an alarm system and usually set it but on this one particular night, they said, they forgot. They also have a dog but have been training him not to bark because he wakes up the baby.

The dog, Le and his wife were all asleep in the first floor master bedroom while the break-in happened, their son's bedroom us on the second floor. Le said the burglar is bold. He knew he was being recorded.

"He looked up at the camera and saw it and he make some statement that I'm here and I don't care," said Le.

Anyone with information about the suspect's identity in this case and/or location is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Houston.
