Bubba the Komodo dragon returns to exhibit at SA Zoo

Reptile makes return after December fire

More than four months after a fire at the San Antonio Zoo, a Komodo dragon named Bubba made his return.

The 20-year-old reptile returned to his original home on Friday at 10 a.m.

Bubba is 8.5 feet long and weighs 175 pounds.

A crowd was on hand to welcome the large reptile back to his exhibit.

The animal has been out of the public eye since December when a fire at the zoo heavily damaged the reptile exhibit.

Bubba joins the zoo's newest Komodo dragon Phoenix in the reptile house.

Phoenix's mother was among the animals killed in the fire.
