San Antonio police: Speeding driver crashed into motorcyclist on E. Southcross

A motorcyclist died and two others were injured in a head-on crash on the Southeast Side late Thursday night.

The crash happened around 10:45 p.m. Thursday in the 2500 block of East Southcross Boulevard.

According to San Antonio police, a car was speeding eastbound on Southcross when the driver hit a dip in the road and bottomed out.

The driver lost control and the car veered to another lane, striking the motorcyclist head-on and then a utility pole, police said.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

San Antonio firefighters had to cut two men out of the mangled car. They were both transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition.

Police are investigating what led to the crash and said the driver of the car could face charges.
