Leonard Madrid, 44, was sentenced in July 2009 to 10 years in prison on drug charges, but was released on bond before having to serve his sentence.

He allegedly violated conditions of his bond by cutting off his ankle monitor and fleeing to Mexico.

Agents with the Mexican police found Madrid in some remote cabins in Southern Mexico after a three-hour hike up a mountain.

He was taken to Houston, where he is now in custody awaiting extradition back to San Antonio.
