Reward increased to $5,000 in search for fatal hit-and-run driver
Sergio Luis Chi-Manzanilla killed in hit-and-run crash, Suspect sought
The San Antonio police and Crime Stoppers have increased the reward to $5,000 for information leading to the driver sought in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred last May.
Police initially requested the public's help last August locating a suspect in the fatal May 10 crash in the eastbound lanes of I-10 near La Cantera Parkway.
According to police, Sergio Luis Chi-Manzanilla was driving in the far right lane of I-10 when he was struck from behind by a silver vehicle. That vehicle fled the scene.
The impact caused Chi-Manzanilla to lose control, skid off the road, and hit a concrete pillar. He was transported by EMS to University Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The driver of the silver vehicle faces a charge of failure to stop and render aid.
