The San Antonio Police Department and the San Antonio Area Optimist Clubs hosted the winners of the city-wide Bicycle Rodeo Saturday.
The event at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center welcomed the winners of the competition to come show off their rides.
During the event, kids learned bike safety tips and were able to ride their bikes in the convention center.
"We just want to let the children and parents of San Antonio, to let them know we want them to be safe riding their bike. We want them to share the road with motorists, but mostly we want them to be safe. We really want them to wear their helmets every time they get on their bike," said Officer Gordon Keogh, SAPD.
About 1,000 kids participated in Saturday's event.
