A man is facing serious charges after hitting a woman who was crossing the street.
It happened just around 12 a.m. Saturday near Highway 90 and 36th Street.
According to police, the woman was leaving a bar to buy cigarettes at a store across the street when she was hit by a car.
The driver stopped to help the woman, but was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
The woman was taken to a local hospital.
