SAN ANTONIO – An 18-wheeler crashed into a railroad bridge and became stuck for hours, San Antonio police say.

The accident happened just before 11 p.m. Monday on the bridge over Saint Mary's Street near Brackenridge High School.  

Police said the driver was hauling a trailer full of flour and attempted to go under the bridge, but did not make the clearance.

Union Pacific officials were called to accident scene to survey the damage and stop trains in both directions.

The driver was cited for interfering with railroad property. No injuries were reported.
