Pudding truck slams into railroad bridge

Driver misjudged railroad bridge clearance at Roosevelt and St. Mary's

SAN ANTONIO – The driver of an 18-wheeler misjudged a bridge's clearance and tore the roof of his big rig's trailer Wednesday morning.

The accident happened just after midnight under a railroad underpass on Roosevelt and St. Mary's, San Antonio police said.

Police said the height of the 18-wheeler was about a foot higher than the bridge's clearance.

The driver still attempted to clear it, but the entire roof of the trailer was ripped off.

The truck was carrying 7,000 pounds of pudding. No injuries were reported.
