SA man indicted on possession of child porn

501 images, 13 videos found on computer, thumb drives

SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio man was indicted Thursday by a Bexar County grand jury on possession of child pornography.

James Midgett, 58, was arrested after a cyber tip stating that Midgett was downloading child pornography from the Internet was forwarded to the Texas Attorney General's Office by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Investigators met with Midgett, who gave them his personal computer and thumb drives.

He was revealed to be in possession of 501 images and 13 videos of child porn.

Punishment for the crime in Texas ranges from at least two years to no more than 10 in the Texas Department of Corrections Institutional Division as well as a fine of no more than $10,000.

Each image qualifies as one count and they may be run consecutively if ordered by the trial judge.
