Body found in trunk of car

Woman witnessed man and woman loading body into trunk outside home on Forrest Ave.

A man's body was found inside the trunk of a parked car on the city's Northwest Side early Tuesday morning, San Antonio police say.

SAPD officers discovered the body in the 7200 block of Brandyridge near Loop 1604 and Culebra Road, but they believe the crime scene is connected to an incident that occurred Monday night.

Officers responded to a call for fireworks reportedly being set off around 7 p.m. south of downtown.

They went to the 100 block of Forrest, near Nogalitos and South Flores, to investigate and found shell casings along with a bloody crime scene instead.

Officers were unable to locate a victim at the time, but spoke to several witnesses who reported seeing two people stuff what looked like a body into the back of a trunk.

SAPD officials asked officers to be on the lookout for the vehicle and it was located around 1:30 a.m. on Brandyridge.

Police obtained a warrant to check the trunk at around 3:15 a.m. and found the man's body inside.

SAPD officials spoke to a person of interest, but it was unknown if any arrests had been made or if any suspects had been identified.

Police said the investigation is ongoing. The victim's name was not immediately released.
