Capital murder charges filed against robbery suspect

Cameo Marcus Clines, 19, charged in death of Xavier Cordero, 20

SAN ANTONIO – New charges have been filed against a 19-year-old man suspected in an aggravated robbery.

Cameo Marcus Clines has now charged with capital murder.

Clines is accused in the robbery and murder of 20-year-old Xavier Cordero.

Clines was formally charged Tuesday and booked on the additional charges Wednesday morning after Bexar County Sheriff's investigators say he confessed to the crime on Monday.

Cordero was killed on June 18, his body left in a field on Donop Road in Southeast Bexar County.

Sheriff's detectives say Clines was the accomplice of 19-year-old Antoinette Martinez in this case. They say Martinez had lured Cordero to her apartment in the 5500 block of South New Braunfels for sex.

Once he entered the apartment, he was confronted at gunpoint.

Investigators say Martinez and Cline put Cordero in the trunk of his own car and drove him to Donop Road, where he was shot multiple times.

Like Martinez, Cline's bond has been set at $1 million.
