Man charged in two bungled burglaries in same day

SAPD: Catedrick Hare, 19, left behind blood, fingerprints

SAN ANTONIO – A 19-year-old man identified as Catedrick Hare is facing charges after San Antonio police said he left behind important evidence at the scenes of two separate burglaries.

An arrest warrant affidavit stated that officers who responded to one of the burglarized homes on March 25 found a broken window with blood on it, as well as blood smeared on a bedroom wall.

Investigators said they determined the blood did not belong to anyone living in the home.

An affidavit related to another separate burglary on the same day stated that two witnesses spotted a strange man coming out of a home with bags in his hands, and called police.

Officers who responded noticed several displaced items inside the home, including video games.

Investigators said they found fingerprints on one of those video games, and blood inside the home that did not belong to the homeowner, the affidavit stated.

Investigators collected blood samples from both homes and entered them into a DNA database, the affidavit stated.

On June 27, detectives learned that the samples matched DNA evidence they already on file for Hare in that criminal database, the affidavit stated. Hare was arrested Tuesday on two counts of burglary.
