Places to celebrate Independence Day in San Antonio

KSAT sponsors July 4th event in Leon Valley

SAN ANTONIOMylife.com didn't rate San Antonio second most patriotic city in the country for nothing.

A part of the website's qualification for labeling us was how many fireworks were bought to showcase on Independence Day.

No matter where you go to celebrate 4th of July you'll see an illuminated sky, however here's a list of other places in and around San Antonio that will offer that and more.

KSAT 12 is celebrating the 4th of July in Leon Valley.

KSAT 12 meteorologist Katie Vossler as well as SA Live co-host Fiona Gorostiza are there to greet viewers.

There are games, music and crafts all day long. Members of the San Antonio Scorpions will be on hand at 1 p.m. for a soccer clinic.

Be sure to check out our "weatherman for a day" interactive display. The day wraps up with a fireworks show.

The star-spangled celebration is from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Raymond Rimkus Park at 6906 Poss Road.

How about celebrating at the San Antonio Zoo?
