Registered sex offender charged with child sex crime

SAN ANTONIO – A 58-year-old registered sex offender has been charged with indecency with a child.

According to an arrest affidavit, Jose Esquivel Mata is accused of touching a teenage girl inappropriately.

The affidavit stated that Mata told the teen that she was "hot" when the girl spent the night with Mata's daughter Thursday.

Mata used some other obscenities and touched her breast, the affidavit stated.

An arrest warrant was issued for Mata and he was arrested Sunday.
