SISD board member arrested at special session meeting

Frank Cannon arrested for 26 outstanding misdemeanor traffic violations

SAN ANTONIO – A Southside ISD school board member left a meeting in handcuffs Tuesday night.

The arrest happened at a special session meeting for the Southside Independent School District.

According to an attorney for the district, board member Frank Cannon was arrested by Bexar County constables.

It happened shortly after board members left the open session of the meeting for a closed-door executive session.

According to information from the Bexar County Magistrates Office, Cannon has been booked on 26 outstanding misdemeanor traffic violations.

The violations range from speeding to driving with an invalid license to not having insurance.

The attorney for the school district, Tony Resendez, said Cannon was cooperative and planned to take care of the tickets.

His arrest is not expected to have any impact on his status as a school board member.
