SAPD: Woman, 21, had crossed U.S.-Mexico border with alleged human smugglers

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are asking for the public's help in finding two persons of interest in connection to the death of a 21-year-old woman.

At 11:30 a.m. June 21, officers responded to a call about a woman who appeared to be unconscious behind a business in the 1500 block of Somerset Road.

When officers arrived, they found the woman dead. Police identified the woman as Jessica Diaz-Zatarin, who had crossed the U.S.-Mexico border in the company of the alleged human smugglers.

The two people sought are believed to be in and around the Laredo area and make frequent trips to San Antonio driving the truck pictured above, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Police said the two appear to be Hispanic and the vehicle they are driving is a smoke gray Dodge Ram single cab pickup truck with a diamond tread tool box in the bed. The tailgate appears to be missing and white paint is seen on the sides of the truck. Authorities said the truck was last seen at the intersection of Somerset and Mayfield, traveling southbound towards Military drive.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to call the SAPD homicide office at 207-7635.
