Man arrested in theft of chainsaws

Victor Castillo, 29, charged with theft from Lowe's

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police arrested a man accused of stealing gas powered chainsaws from a Lowe's Home Improvement store. Victor Castillo, 29, has been charged with theft.

An arrest affidavit stated Castillo walked into a Lowe's on Goliad Road on July 21, and placed two chainsaws in a shopping cart, then simply walked out without paying.

Castillo was caught on surveillance video and a witness identified him to police. Employees also said Castillo has stolen from the store many times.

The affidavit stated Castillo has been arrested in the past for a theft at a Lowe's in Schertz.

The manager of the Lowe's on Goliad Road was shown surveillance video from the Schertz theft and positively identified Castillo as the same person who stole from his store.
