Man shot in leg on South Side

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are searching for a shooting suspect that reportedly fired at a man on the city's South Side.

The man who was shot told investigators he was walking in the 900 block of VFW Boulevard around 4 a.m. Friday when a group of people drove up next to him.

He said they asked him for money and when he tried to ignore them, someone inside the car fired a gun, hitting him in the leg.

The man was able to run to his girlfriend's apartment to call for help and is expected to be OK.

Police are searching for a gold-colored car in connection with the shooting.
