St. Mary's student to fight extradition

SAN ANTONIO – A St. Mary's University student that was arrested on campus last week on murder and arson charges in Louisiana has vowed to fight his extradition.

According to the KSAT affiliate in Monroe, Louisiana, Matthew Alexander, 29, was wanted on two counts of attempted second degree murder, two counts of arson and aggravated arson stemming from a crime that happened two weeks ago.

Questions have surrounded the law student's case after information was entered incorrectly in the FBI database.

During a federal detention hearing Thursday, a judge confirmed paperwork still shows Alexander is charged with murder.

His bond has been set at $1 million.
