LAREDO, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials recently seized a shipment of counterfeit electronic tablets valued at $1.1 million.
According to a press release, CBP's Import Specialist Enforcement Team seized the fake tablets at the Laredo Point of Entry.
Officers said the tablets featured U.S. trademarks that violate the copyrights of a number of American companies, including Google and Amazon.
The CBP determined on Aug. 14 that the shipment of 11,540 electronic tablets lacked legal authorization. Officials continue to investigate where the tablets were made.
