I-10 closure at UTSA Blvd. back on for tonight

All lanes at intersection will be closed Wednesday and Thursday nights

SAN ANTONIO – The full closure of Interstate 10 at UTSA Boulevard that was cancelled is back on for Wednesday and Thursday nights.

The closure was originally scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday nights, but due to issues getting materials, the work was canceled for 24 hours, Texas Department of Transportation officials said.

The closure will require all lanes of I-10 at UTSA Boulevard to be closed so work crews can set bridge beams.

Traffic going in either direction will exit UTSA Boulevard and re-enter the highway. This will cause long delays, so motorists are advised to find alternate routes.

Bridge crews will be working to finish the eastbound side of the I-10 bridge over DeZavala Road with concrete scheduled to be poured early next week.

Project managers are hoping to have traffic switched over onto the eastbound side later this fall, ahead of the January target date. When traffic is switched over, work will begin in the westbound side.
