Arrest made after man stuffed in trunk of car, robbed

Lizette De Luna, 21, charged with robbery

SAN ANTONIO – A 21-year-old has been arrested in connection with a scheme that involved the robbery of a man who said he also was beaten and locked in the trunk of his car for hours.

Lizette De Luna was taken into custody on Thursday.

An affidavit related to her arrest stated that a 54-year-old man told San Antonio police he received a call from De Luna on Sept. 2, promising to return a car she previously had stolen from him.

The man told police that De Luna asked him to meet her at her apartment complex near Goldfield Drive and Rittiman Road, but said that she needed him to buy gas for the car and some items for her, the affidavit stated.

He said after he met all of her requests, he drove De Luna back to the 4800 block of Goldfield, where someone then hit him over his head and put him into the trunk of his car, the affidavit stated.

The victim told investigators that he spent about six hours in the trunk, with two men beating him with their fists and demanding the PIN number to his debit card, the affidavit stated.

He said he finally climbed out of the trunk after his attackers abandoned the car, the affidavit stated.

Police obtained surveillance video from several businesses where the victim's debit card was used.

They said one of those shows De Luna using the stolen card at a Walmart store to purchase a large screen television, the affidavit stated. De Luna faces a charge of robbery.
