Historic church robbed days before last service

Board Member: I believe it was an inside job

SAN ANTONIO – A North Side church was robbed Friday just days before its final Mass.

Beacon Hill Presbyterian Church was closing its doors after more than 100 years of service.

The thief or thieves took two refrigerators, a ladder, industrial fans and parts of a sound system that were needed for a final celebration over the weekend.

A church board member believes it was an inside job.

"We've been very generous with our space and shared with groups so people have had keys. Anyone could have made a copy before turning it in," said Sally Lewis, clerk of session.

If you have any information about this break-in you are asked to contact San Antonio police.
