Man charged with stealing motorcycle he was hired to paint

Djanjo Hensley, 21, charged with theft

SAN ANTONIO – A 21-year-old man is accused of stealing a motorcycle from a man who hired him to paint it.

The victim filed a report with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office on Sept. 1 saying that he had made a deal with Djanjo Hensley, whom he had found on Craigslist, to paint his 2012 Yamaha bike for $185, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

The man said turned over his motorcycle to Hensley on Aug. 1 and expected it to be returned on Aug. 5, the affidavit stated.

He said after not receiving his bike at the agreed time, he made several attempts to get it back, contacting Hensley by phone and even once in person, all to no avail, the affidavit stated.

On one occasion when he was able to reach him, he said Hensley told him the motorcycle was with a friend in Austin, the affidavit stated.

Sheriff's investigators said the motorcycle is worth about $9,000. Sheriff's arrested Hensley Saturday on a charge of theft $1,5000-20,000.
