Authorities arrest Bexar Co. man wanted in child-injury case

David Hawkins, 31, allegedly caused head, face trauma of 2 kids

SAN ANTONIO – A man wanted in a case involving injury to a child was arrested Friday night by Bexar County sheriff's deputies with help from the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.

David Hawkins, 31, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of injury to a child.

Deputies were called to a home in the 7100 block of Grassy Trail Friday morning where a woman told them Hawkins forced her and her two children strip down. He then threatened to throw them out of the house.

The woman told deputies Hawkins assaulted her after she confronted him about her toddler's bloody nose. She said Hawkins told her he punished the boy after he soiled himself, causing head and face trauma.

Deputies determined that the second child had also suffered head and face trauma.

Hawkins fled from the home when deputies arrived, but was arrested Friday evening without incident.
