Driver leaves trail of damage in South Side crash

Police say truck smashed into phone pole, fence, tree

SAN ANTONIO – A wild South Side crash sent a man to the hospital after he slammed his pickup into a telephone pole, collided with a fence and hit a tree. That tree then hit the side of a house.

Police say that man had to be cut from his truck after the crash early Saturday morning.

They say he apparently lost control at the intersection of East Mayfield Boulevard and Endicott.

Police say he left the roadway and hit the pole and fence, then hit the tree trapping him in the truck.

Firefighters cut the man from the crashed truck and EMS transported him to University Hospital.

No one inside the home was injured.
