Tower of the Americas reopens after repairs

SAN ANTONIO – The Tower of the Americas has re-opened after being closed for three days for electrical repairs.

The iconic structure experienced an electrical power failure in September that, according to tower officials, occurred at joint locations of the main electrical bus duct about 90 feet up the tower. The bus duct feeds electrical service to the tower restaurant.

Temporary repairs kept the tower open to the public until a permanent repair solution was coordinated.
