Fire tears through North Side warehouse

Business manufactures custom plastic products

SAN ANTONIO – A two-alarm fire ripped through a far North Side warehouse early Sunday morning.

The fire call came out shortly before 1 a.m. at Franks Manufacturing in the 1300 block of W. Blanco Road near the corner of Loop 1604 and Blanco Road.

Fire crews called a second alarm to fight the fire as flames moved quickly through that structure.

More than 20 units fought that fire before bringing it under control about an hour after it started.

Damage estimates were unknown, but fire officials said the warehouse had heavy damage.

The Franks Manufacturing website says the company makes custom plastic products.

Firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire.
