Car up-roots tree before crashing into building

SAN ANTONIO – Police are searching for a man who they said ran a stop sign and crashed into another vehicle.

A man driving a silver car ran a stop sign at the corner of South Chupaderas Street and Buena Vista Street on the city's West Side, and slammed into a black car, injuring a young boy.

The impact caused the the silver car to hit and up-root a tree before crashing into a building.

Police said that man then got out of his car and took off on foot, leaving his injured girlfriend behind.

Both the driver and child inside the black car and the girlfirend were taken to an area hospital.

There is no information on their conditions.
