The driver stopped but put the truck in reverse, ramming the patrol car.

The officer was not hurt and the driver sped off into Takas Park, but hit a drainage ditch.

The driver got out of the truck and fled on foot. Police searched the area with help from SAPD'S canine unit but could not located the suspect.

The suspect is believed to be in his 20s. Officers recovered property in the back of the truck that was taken in a car burglary in San Antonio earlier.

Police said the truck was not stolen but had different plates on it.
