East Side vacant building fire deemed suspicious

SAN ANTONIO – Arson investigators are looking into the cause of a fire at a vacant building on the city's East Side.

The fire started about 1:30 p.m. Friday on East Houston Street.

The district fire chief on the scene said there was no power connected to the building, leading them to believe the fire was suspicious.

The building, which has been vacant for some time, will be demolished in order to avoid another fire.
