Sumatran tiger passes away at SA Zoo

Raguno the tiger passes away at 14


SAN ANTONIO – A male Sumatran tiger passed away early Tuesday morning at the San Antonio zoo.

According to zoo officials, Raguno was 14-years-old and had been showing signs of weakness and was occasionally off-balance.

Veteranarians at the zoo and a pathology team believe Raguno died of complications due to internal bleeding. A cause of death has not been confirmed.  

Zoo officials say the median life expectancy of a tiger is 17 years. Officials said Raguno will be greatly missed.
