SUV rear-ends East Central ISD bus

18 students on board were not injured in crash on Southton Road


SAN ANTONIO – A sport utility vehicle rear-ended an East Central Independent School District bus carrying 18 junior high and elementary students Friday morning on the far Southeast Side.

East Central ISD Superintendent Roland Toscano said the students and bus driver were not hurt. The SUV driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Another school bus picked up students and took them to school. The bus had minor damage to the rear bumper.

Deputies did not say if the driver would be cited.

The crash occurred in the 12500 block of Southton Road off Interstate 37 around 7 a.m.
