CHARGES: Assault on family-choking/strangulation
THE ALLEGATIONS: Kalke's common-law wife told police she was assaulted repeatedly by him on Dec. 14, 2012. She said she, Kalke and their infant were homeless and living in a wooded area. While she was sleeping, she said Kalke woke up in pain from an abscessed tooth. Each time he woke, she said Kalke would punch her in the back and arms. At one point, she said Kalke was upset because she was tending to their child instead of him. She said Kalke attacked her again, "pinning her down by placing his forearm across her throat so she couldn't breathe." She screamed and said Kalke let her up. She said she tried to leave, but Kalke slapped her in the face. The woman said she would stay and Kalke calmed down. The woman woke and left with the child as Kalke was still sleeping.
